What the Hell Happened Fail of the Week:

Texas (ranked 11th last week) traveled to BYU and lost 40-21.  Think that’s bad enough?  Try giving up 550 yards RUSHING in one game.  BYU quarterback Taysom Hill lead the Cougars read option attack and totaled 259 yards rushing himself.  That is a recipe for disaster and it cost Texas defensive coordinator Manny Diaz his job. This is the same Texas team that returned 19 starters from a season ago.  This university also has their own cable channel. Mack Brown needs to start recruiting better athletes or his time in Austin could be done.

GAME OF THE CENTURY/YEAR/WEEK

I’m skipping the players of the week and am instead focusing on what is the most anticipated regular season game in years…..Stony Brook at Buffalo!  Or possibly #1 ranked and defending National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide at #5th ranked Texas A&M Aggies.  Of course it’s the latter, since Johnny Manziel aka The Money Badger defeated Nick Saban’s squad in Tuscaloosa last season. That was the only blemish on the Tide’s 13-1 record and got CBS a nice Nielsen rating. I fully expect that rating to be higher on Saturday.  But most importantly, which quarterback has the hotter girlfriend?

Sarah Savage is the girlfriend of Johnny Manziel

Katherine Webb is the girlfriend of A.J. McCarron

Back to the game, you have on one side a quarterback that was the first freshman ever to win the Heisman and a program on the rise vs a team that has won 3 of the past 4 National Championships and is looking to Three-Peat.  Also, Saban is 7-1 is avenging losses from a previous season, 15-2 overall in his time as a college coach.  The story lines in this game go on and on and on….but, let’s just hope this game lives up to the hype.
